In Gil v. Winn-Dixie Stores, the court ruled that the defendant’s inaccessible website violated Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This case could have implications for future ADA lawsuits, as well as setting an important precedent for other digital accessibility cases.
With just a little bit of foresight, Winn-Dixie could have avoided the issue entirely.
