American Heart Association (AHA)/American Stroke Association (ASA) Committed to Achieving WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA Compliance

Today’s American Heart Association (AHA)/American Stroke Association (ASA) web site visitors engage daily with our life-saving Web-based information. Websites that are accessible to all users are critical to advancing AHA/ASA’s mission.

As is the case at with many commercial and other non-profit sites, AHA/ASA websites have been developed over time, by many departments and with varying attention to accessibility for people with disabilities.

The Americans with Disabilities Act, Title III, and regulations developed by federal, state and international enforcement agencies all require public entities to provide equal access to information.

Assessment of accessibility compliance and any required remediation requires a carefully constructed plan. AHA/ASA is currently working through a multi-phase plan to ensure that volunteers, donors, and other constituents with disabilities have equal access to AHA/ASA’s web content.

AHA/ASA is striving for WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA Compliance; further details are found within this site.
